Partron ESL is expanding the deployment of Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) across large-scale pharmacies and health & beauty retail stores in Korea, supporting the digital transformation of the pharmacy retail market.

Starting with Gumi Mega Pharmacy in May 2026, Partron ESL has deployed ESL solutions at various types of pharmacies and hybrid retail stores, including Mediplex, P&D House, Nampo On Pharmacy, and Pure Pharmacy. Beyond large-scale specialized pharmacies, ESL applications are expanding into new retail formats that combine pharmacies with beauty, health, and lifestyle products, creating optimized ESL operation models for evolving retail environments.

To date, approximately 14,000 ESLs have been deployed across these five stores. Depending on each store’s operating environment and product assortment, various ESL models, including S280, S15, IE154, and IE266, have been implemented.

Faster and More Accurate Price Management for Large-Scale Pharmacies with ESL

Large-scale pharmacies carry a wide variety of products, including pharmaceuticals, health supplements, household goods, and beauty products. As a result, they manage a large number of SKUs, making price management increasingly complex.

When thousands of product prices are managed using paper labels, every price change requires new labels to be printed and manually replaced, requiring considerable time and labor.

Partron ESL addresses these operational challenges by enabling centralized price updates and digitizing in-store price displays through ESL technology.

At Gumi Mega Pharmacy, approximately 3,000 ESLs were deployed to digitize large-scale price labeling and establish an environment that enables real-time price updates and greater operational automation. Mediplex also introduced approximately 3,000 ESLs, with a focus on improving price management efficiency and reducing repetitive manual tasks.

Through these implementations, large-scale pharmacies can move beyond simply replacing paper labels with electronic displays and establish a more efficient, standardized foundation for digital store operations.

Expanding ESL Applications from Pharmacies to Health & Beauty Retail Stores

The pharmacy market is evolving beyond the traditional model centered primarily on pharmaceutical sales. Increasingly, pharmacies are becoming hybrid retail spaces offering health, beauty, and lifestyle products under one roof.

In response to this shift, Partron ESL is expanding the scope of its ESL applications.

Approximately 5,000 ESLs were deployed at P&D House, a hybrid retail store combining pharmacy and beauty products, creating a stable ESL operating environment.

At Nampo On Pharmacy, approximately 1,500 ESLs were implemented to support efficient price management and integration with the store’s payment system.

Another 1,500 ESLs were deployed at Pure Pharmacy, which offers pharmacy, health, and beauty products. The system enables digital and integrated management of price information across multiple product categories, further demonstrating the potential of ESL technology in hybrid retail environments.

Building Pharmacy-Specific Retail Environments Through Collaboration with Solution Providers

Partron ESL’s pharmacy projects in Korea go beyond supplying ESL hardware. A key focus is creating systems tailored to each store’s actual operating environment through collaboration with retail solution providers and integration with existing store management systems.

By integrating ESL with various retail solutions, Partron ESL builds systems optimized for each store’s operational structure and requirements. Successful deployments involving first-time collaboration with new solution partners have also established valuable references for future business expansion.

These collaborative experiences provide a foundation for seamlessly connecting ESL with existing POS and store management systems, enabling more efficient digital operations ranging from price updates to product management.

Beyond Paper Price Tags: ESL as Digital Infrastructure for Pharmacy Operations

ESL technology digitizes paper price labels that would otherwise need to be repeatedly printed and replaced, helping reduce the time and workload associated with price management.

Because centrally updated information can be quickly reflected on ESL displays throughout the store, the technology is particularly effective for large-scale pharmacies and hybrid retail stores managing extensive product assortments.

E-Ink-based ESLs primarily consume power when the display content is updated, making them highly energy-efficient. By reducing the repeated printing and disposal of paper price labels, ESLs can also contribute to resource savings while improving overall store operating efficiency.

Partron ESL is expanding the role of ESL beyond electronic price displays, positioning the technology as digital infrastructure that supports automated price management and more efficient pharmacy operations.

A Digital Transformation Partner for Korea’s Pharmacy Retail Market

Building on its experience across diverse retail environments—from large-scale pharmacies to health & beauty hybrid stores—Partron ESL plans to continue expanding ESL adoption throughout Korea’s pharmacy retail market.

The company aims to provide ESL models and solutions tailored to each store’s size, product assortment, and existing operating systems. Partron ESL will also strengthen collaboration with various solution partners to provide customers with more stable, efficient, and integrated digital store environments.

Going forward, Partron ESL will continue expanding its ESL deployment portfolio across Korea’s pharmacy and health & beauty retail markets, supporting retail digital transformation through automated price management and improved operational efficiency.
